Non club members incur a $40 entry fee.

Boundaries: MBFC Club Boundaries. CLICK HERE to see the Boundary map.  Proof of capture location may be required.

Qualified Species: Snapper, Kingfish, Kahawai, John Dory, Trevally. Maximum of 1 fish to be weighed per angler per species

When: Saturday November 4th 2023 6.00am – 9.00pm

Briefing: Thursday 2nd November 6.00pm Mairangi Bay Bowls Club

Weigh in: Opens at 3.00pm at Mairangi Bay Bowls Club. Anglers MUST be in the weigh in line before 4.30pm to enter a fish.

Prizing Giving:  Mairangi Bay Bowls Club. Bar and fish filletting will be open from 3pm.

Snacks and Dinner will be available before the prizegiving starts at 6pm.

Fish Filleting: Will be available by Kai Ika team at the prizegiving for $3 per fish.

Communication: Will be on VHF Channel 77

Competition Rules:

1. All Boats MUST be lined up parallel to the shore 200m off Mairangi Bay beach at 6.15am. A  Shotgun Start 6.30am will signal the start of the Competition. Boats to be  lined up a minimum 10m apart. Safety at this start is paramount.
2. If you are a late starter, you still need to be check in by posting a photo at Mairangi Bay before you can fish.
3. Fish must be caught within MBFC fishing boundaries as per map below. Photo/GPS details of capture location may need to be accepted by a committee member.
4. Fish caught on Commercial charters, by spear or longline from a boat are not eligible.
5. Anglers are allowed a maximum of 1 fish to be weighed per species.
6. New Zealand fishing rules and regulations apply.
7. All entrants must fish within their capabilities, it is the skippers responsibility to look after himself and his crew. Lifejackets must be worn at the start on all vessels.
8. Skippers must comply with New Zealand Maritime Rules.
9. The MBFC Committee and or venue staff reserve the right to disqualify / refuse entry and serve alcohol to anyone acting in a way that’s not in the spirit of the club and or the law.

Note: In the event of adverse weather the committee reserve the right to postpone or cancel club competitions which will be communicated to members on the Thursday 2nd November briefing night.
